Vocational Training Schools - Projects
IKASLAN GIPUZKOA (Association of Public Vocational Training School Directors) was founded on March 31st 1993 in Altzasu (Bergara).
Of the 19 public vocational training schools existing in Guipuzcoa at that time, the directors of fourteen of these schools decided to create the association IKASLAN GIPUZKOA with the intention of uniting their efforts and working together in defence of the interests of their schools.
The name IKASLAN was not chosen by chance. Moreover its meaning is the synthesis of the notion that learning and work are closely interrelated and it transmits the message that high quality Vocational Training increases the possibilities for success in the job market.
Throughout these years, IKASLAN has seen a considerable increase in its membership. Currently there are already 24 members.
In addition, it has consulted and cooperated with the directors of schools in Araba and Bizkaia, creating IKASLAN ARABA in 1996 and IKASLAN Bizkaia in 1997.
Presently, IKASLAN Gipuzkoa stands out as an important reference point in educational spheres. As it becomes more active in its relationship with governmental institutions, private businesses, trade unions and, all those groups associated with vocational training its influence grows exponentially.
As an example, we are currently working on developing the initiatives defined by the Strategic Plan 2003-2007 in direct cooperation with the Directorate for Vocational Training, the Department of Labour, the Diputacion Foral (Provincial Council), Adegi, Confebask, IKASLAN ARABA, IKASLAN BIZKAIA, Hetel, Bihe, AICE, Trade Unions, the Agency for Quality, the Leonardo Programme, Euskalit, Hobetuz, INEM, Forcem, etc.
In the last few years, Ikaslan Gipuzkoa, has initiated and further developed the following projects, either on its own or in cooperation with other organisations: Sareka, Garatu, Laneki, Leonardo, Euskal Herrirantz, Elkarlanean, and Hezkuntek.
